WVU Engineers Without Borders
Oct 13, 2008
The WVU Chapter of Engineers Without Borders serves the world community with their engineering and technology skills. Over the summer, a group of students from West Virginia University’s College of Engineering and Mineral Resources had the opportunity to do something a little outside the norm this summer and, in the process, made a difference in the lives of people in two small communities in Nicaragua.

WVU Alumni Association to move into new home
Sep 25, 2008
Construction on the new Erickson Alumni Center is nearing completion, and the West Virginia University Alumni Association will be moving its offices to the new facility Sept. 24-26. Here’s a link to a photo gallery of the Alumni Center.
The association will officially open for business Monday, Sept. 29, in the new location – 57 Alumni Drive (formerly Medical Center Drive), near Ruby Memorial Hospital and Milan Puskar Stadium. The center is more than quadruple the size of the current facility and features multiple meeting/conference facilities, state-of-the-art technology, an outdoor fireplace and a landmark bell tower.
“Alumni are very excited for this new center to open its doors,” said Stephen L. Douglas, president and chief executive officer of the WVU Alumni Association. “The next few weeks will be busy as we begin to welcome visitors into our new home. We are looking forward to showcasing this magnificent facility.”
During the coming weeks, numerous events are planned at the Erickson Alumni Center. The association will host a special donor celebration Oct. 23 prior to the WVU-Auburn football game. The official public grand opening will be from 1:30-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, and will include tours of the new facility. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
