Sixth Annual Scholarship Awarded for 2008 – 2009 School Year
Leslie Dierckman of Cincinnati, OH is the recipient of this year’s annual Cincinnati/Dayton Chapter $1000 scholarship award. Leslie was one of a record 9 applicants that responded to our scholarship offering. Leslie attended Anderson High School and plans to have a career in medicine. Leslie plays soccer, loves rock climbing, and dance.

The applicants were asked to submit a one to two page essay on what they would tell a high school senior to encourage them to attend WVU and how the scholarship would be beneficial to them. A panel of six judging teams graded each anonymous essay. Ms. Dierckman’s glowing essay of WVU won the judges over. Good luck Leslie!

The Chapter would also like to recognize our 2008 judges: Dr. Pat Nunan, Bill Hanlon, Justin Bond & Adrienne Lewis, Don Mahlke, Dr. Wafa Nasser, and John McKeny. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.
